Summer is in full swing so take time today to Think Your FOOD. Are you making fit choices? Summer is a great time to get fresh fruits and vegetables because it is their peak season. Watermelon, strawberries, peaches, cantaloupe, cherries, cucumbers, you name it! Add them to meals, snacks, and even water for a nutrient filled day.


Fresh Food
Challenge yourself to try a new fruit or vegetable every day this week. Remember, fruits and vegetables are most nutritious when they are fresh and in season (which is now!). Play this game to see if you can spot the fruits and veggies!

Gulp, gulp, gulp! Make sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water today.

It's always important to drink water throughout the day, but it's extra important during the summer when the temperatures get hotter. Ditch soda and juice. Instead, carry around an ice cold water bottle to keep yourself cool and hydrated.

Happy 4th of July! Celebrate today by eating yummy red, white, and blue foods. Strawberries, blueberries, and bananas pack nutrients like potassium, vitamin C, and fiber. There are plenty of ways to eat them together! Blend them in a smoothie with milk, add them to low fat yogurt, or put them onto a skewer.
