Wednesday is National Walk to School Day! How are you going to celebrate?

Walking or biking with friends and family is a great way to RECHARGE. Walking or biking to school can help you boost your energy and get ready for a day of learning.

National Walk to School Day
How are you going to participate in National Walk to School Day? Gather classmates in your neighborhood and form a walking school bus or bicycle train. Or, if you live too far away to walk or bike to school, ask your parent or guardian to drop you off further away from the building and walk the rest of the way.

It's Take Your Teddy Bear to Work Day! Celebrate by snuggling up to your favorite stuffed animal at bedtime.

Hugging a Teddy bear, a pet, or family member is a great way to relieve stress before bedtime. Saying goodnight is a great activity to add to your bedtime routine and help you wind down for bed. So grab something you love! Your pets, family, and Teddy bear will appreciate you saying goodnight!

Practice yoga like Yogi the Bear! Celebrate Take Your Teddy Bear to Work Day by doing bear-inspired yoga before snuggling up with your Teddy bear for bed. There are many yoga poses you can do to mimic your Teddy bear. Try pretending to be a bear cub rolling around while doing the Happy Baby Pose or pretend to be a polar bear sliding on ice in the Child's Pose. What other yoga poses can you do?

"I can't fall asleep!" Do you ever say that while in bed? Try a longer bedtime routine or some bedtime meditation!

Sometimes our brains are still buzzing from the long day so we can't relax when it is time for bed. Try lying in bed and meditating to calm your brain and relax your body. Following a bedtime routine can also help tell your body and brain that it is time for sleep.

The next time you are having trouble falling asleep play the "I Can't Fall Asleep" game!

Did you know that reading before bed can actually make you smarter? So grab a book tonight and add some reading to your bedtime routine!

Dr. Seuss had it right when he said, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." Reading can expand your vocabulary, help you score better on tests, and even help you sleep better!

As Dr. Seuss said, reading can take you places…like the library! Walk over and check out your favorite Dr. Seuss book to read before bed this weekend. Check out this article that explains the link between RECHARGE and brain power!
