"I can't fall asleep!" Do you ever say that while in bed? Well try a longer bedtime routine or some bedtime meditation!

Sometimes our brains are still buzzing from the long day, so we can't relax when it is time for bed. Try lying in bed and meditating to calm your brain and relax your body. Focus on relaxing one muscle group at a time while breathing deeply. Before you know it, you'll be drifting off to sleep!

It's National Take Your Teddy Bear to Work Day! Celebrate by snuggling up to your favorite stuffed animal at bedtime. 

Hugging a teddy bear, pet, or family member is a great way to relieve stress before bedtime. Saying goodnight is an awesome activity to add to your bedtime routine and it helps you wind down for bed. So grab something you love! Your pets, family, and teddy bear will apprecaite you saying goodnight!

Snuggle Up

Celebrate take your Teddy bear to work day by doing bear-inspired yoga before snuggling up with your Teddy bear for bed. There are many yoga posed you can do to mimic your Teddy bear. Try pretending to be a bear cub rolling around while doing the Happy Baby Pose or pretend to be a polar bear sliding on ice in the Child's Pose. What other yoga poses can you do?




Wednesday, October 11

What do you call a tense clock? All wound up! And that's what you'll be if you don’t go to bed at the same time every night.

If you don't go to bed at the same time every night, you might not be able to calm your body and brain down for sleep. Going to sleep and waking up at the same time every day helps you RECHARGE your energy and make fit choices throughout your day!

Bedtime routines help our brains wind down after an action-packed day. The calming activities you have in your bedtime routine will signal your body that it's time to fall asleep. Following a routine every night can help you sleep better and wake up feeling fully RECHARGED!

Did you know that reading before bed can actually make you smarter? So grab a book tonight and add some reading to your bedtime routine!

Dr. Seuss had it right when he said, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." Reading can expand your vocabulary, help you score better on tests, and even help you sleep better!
